SIX Ways To Participate in Positive Change

Thank YouUnited Way offers employers/employees and all community members convenient, and efficient ways to donate and give back to the community. We invite you to join the thousands of local residents who are donating and volunteering to improve lives & communities!

Contribute to our United effort today. A gift to United Way will help local individuals, students, veterans, and families get access to the tools, support, and services they need to survive and thrive. There are multiple ways of giving: payroll deduction, online, round-up, crowdfunding, DAF/IRA. We also provide opportunities to give to dedicated funds like the COVID-19, United for Literacy, and Home for Good Funds.

Northern Santa Barbara County United Way brings people together to solve our community’s toughest challenges. We fight for everyone in every community. We live United.

How? With a Focus On IMPACT - Last Year, in partnership with our donors, sponsors, and program partners

 We did

  • Maintain the Financial Stability Program  - the team operated the volunteer income tax assistance program serving thousands of families in spite of Covid 19
  • United we enrolled 100 new preschoolers in the Imagination Library - so they will be better prepared to start kindergarten and we maintained the Power Readers program with remote access for students in elementary and high school.
  • The Home for Good Program wrapped up our responsibilities to develop the Coordinated Entry System by organizing over 20 partners collecting information on more than 2,400 individuals in one database so the county can make data-driven decisions to better address the issue of homelessness
  • We assisted thousands of unsheltered homeless individuals throughout the County during Covid 19 -when everyone else was closing their doors our teams stayed active to provide for their needs including food, PPE and other essentials
  • We launched the Work For Good program putting people experiencing homelessness or recently housed and folks who were impacted by Covid 19 back to work
  • United we launched the first-ever Mobile Showers program in North County which serves as a mobile coordinated entry site for people experiencing homelessness.
  • the AmeriCorps team helped over 1700 people AND were responsible for housing 536 people during the pandemic

Now what?  United we can

  • Launch the Literacy 2.0 initiative and continue expanding our financial stability efforts by introducing a financial literacy program for young children – you can get involved and learn more at www.SammyRabbitsSavingsHabits.com
  • Expand the Imagination Library and introduce a family engagement tool designed to enhance kindergarten readiness -look for the Ready4K app to launch in 22
  • We can continue assisting in the efforts to address homelessness through enhanced advocacy, development partnerships, coordination of services agreements, and work experience opportunities to assure people stay housed. Putting an end to the cycle of homeless, housed, homeless over and over again
  • The AmeriCorps program can shift the focus to include more outreach and assistance to veterans and their families, and housing retention to break the cycle of homelessness

But wait there's more

  • of course, we can continue Product Philanthropy to distribute millions of dollars of products including household goods, clothing, and other items
  • of course, we can continue to conduct Workplace Campaigns with dozens of national corporate partners from Best Buy to Wells Fargo raising tens of thousands of dollars to assist frontline agencies.
  • And we can always ask the question - How Can We Help?

That’s why we ask you to join us today - to join us to support our efforts to expand our advocacy, outreach, and impact.

Thank you for all you've done. We appreciate all you will continue to do to help us live our mission.
