Health & Homelessness
In Santa Barbara County, on any given night there are over 1,860 individuals experiencing homelessness. We know it is a problem. It is our priveledge to fight to house the people in our county.
In 2019, we plan to
- Perform a Homeless Point in Time Count to count every person experiencing homelessness in Santa Barbara County on a single morning.
- Move into phase two of our Home for Good SBC program, which will focus on ensuring that the homeless individuals in our county are document ready. This prepares them to be able to move into a unit as soon as it becomes available.
- Reduce homelessness, with a focus on eliminating veteran homelessness.
These goals are ambitious, but with your help, and by utilizing our core strengths — a county-wide network, committed partners, and public engagement capacity — we can achieve them.
