Home for Good Santa Barbara County is an initiative with a goal to significantly reduce homelessness county-wide. In its first year, over 1,600 individuals and families received Vulnerability Index assessments, and now our outreach staff is in the process of preparing each of those individuals and families with the documentation they need to be eligible for housing. It is a long process, but it is one that we have promised to see through to the end. With a lofty goal of ending the negative impacts of homelessness in our county, we need help.
We work with private and public partners to coordinate resources, which ensures that processes, costs, and efforts are not duplicated. Home for Good is the county's lead agency in the Coordinated Entry System. Coordinated Entry is a streamlined system designed to efficiently match people experiencing homelessness to available housing, shelter, and services. This cost-reducing strategy has been proven to work, and we are excited to be in the second year of our program in Santa Barbara County.
We hope you join us.
$20 will allow us to fund one member of our outreach staff to do over an hour of outreach on our streets.
$50 enables us to purchase bus tickets for 30 individuals who cannot afford transportation.
$100 gives us the funding to help a family struggling to afford section 8 housing with a significant amount of their rent for one month.
Northern Santa Barbara County United Way fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every member of our community. Join us in the fight.
